Bedroom terrace2
This project involved a bedroom with varied amount of existing architectural designs. The room has an unusually shaped tray ceiling. A skyscape was planned for this part of the decoration. The shape of the ceiling was such that it could accept a faux broken stone archway on the wall and into the ceiling above the bed. Vines added to the feeling of an exterior wall and provided a sense of depth.
The above view shows the start of the terrace. The wall is flat.

However, even at this preliminary stage, it seems that one could walk right through the opening

The view to the left shows the bed headboard wall, continuing the view above, moving to the left
By removing some of the stones on the vertical wall, Coggeshall creates the effect of broken, weathered stonework and fits it in nicely to the sky view in the ceiling vault.
