Trompe-l'oeil Festival

The therme this year was L'acqua, l'inganno della trasparenza.

Water: the deception of transparency.

Each contestant was given an identical canvas. Using the theme for inspiration, artists had three days in which to produce an original work.

The term, “trompe l'oeil” is a French term meaning ”that fools the eye”. The artist paints pictures with a three dimensional look, making the viewers believe what they see is real.

The 2005 festival had artists coming from USA (Arizona, New York, Illinois, Colorado), Mexico, Germany, France, Belgium, Albania and Italy.
